MOORHEAD, Minn. (2/14/26)---It was a Senior Celebration to remember as the three Cobbers seniors were honored before their game with Macalester and then went out and led CC to a decisive 95-64 win that helped Concordia clinch its third straight MIAC playoff berth.
Peyton Belka, Jacob Cook and Jackson Loge all scored in double figures as the senior trio led by example on their special playoff-clinching day.
Belka was 5-for-8 from outside the arc and finished with 19 points. He also contributed six rebounds and two blocks. Cook went for 12 points and 12 rebounds to record his 11th double-double of the year, while Loge put up 18 points and added three assists and three steals.
The win ups the Cobbers record to 17-6 on the year. CC is 9-5 in conference play and tied for fifth place in the league standings – only a half game behind a 2-way tie for third place.
Concordia never trailed in the game against Macalester as they were able to establish their offensive rhythm right from the opening tap.
The Cobbers scored on 10 of their first 12 possessions and bolted to a 22-5 lead over the first 6:11 of play.
Concordia was able to push the margin to 27 points at the halftime break and never let the Scots get within 16 points for the final 20 minutes.
While the three seniors were stealing the spotlight, it was first-year guard Payton Schell who put up the biggest numbers. Shell went 6-for-9 from distance and finished with a game-high 24 points. It was his second straight game with at least 20 points and fifth of the season.
Schell also came away with a season-high seven assists.
The Cobbers had their shooting sights dialed in for the entire game as they shot better than 50.0-percent from the floor and 3-point range. It is the first time all season where they have shot better than 50-percent in both categories.
Concordia shot 54.0% (34-for-63) from the field and a season high 55.6% (15-for-27) from distance. It's also the highest shooting percentage from outside the arc in a single game since 2019 when they shot 75.0% against St. Scholastica.
Aiden Greene came off the bench and was 3-for-3 from the field and finished with a season-high seven points while Cole Holzer went 4-for-4 from the free throw line and had eight points.
Concordia will finish off the regular season when they host St. Olaf on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 7:15 p.m. and then play at St. Scholastica on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 3 p.m.
1,000 College Points: Jackson Loge scored his 1,000th college point late in the second half. Loge has 965 points in his three years as a Cobber and had 38 points in his one season at Augustana (S.D.).
