Season-Best Shooting Performance Paces Win At North Central
Concordia posted season-high shooting numbers from the floor and outside the arc and used a 15-5 run midway through the second half to take control of their 83-73 win at North Central.
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (11/24/25)---Jacob Cook and Payton Schell combined for 49 points, Concordia had a hot shooting hand from all over the floor, led for the final 14-minutes of play and outlasted North Central 83-73.
Cook scored 25 points and Schell dropped a season-high 24 to pace the Cobbers to their fourth straight win to start the season. It is the first time that CC has started a year at 4-0 since the 2023-24 campaign when they went 7-0 to kick off the season.
Concordia and North Central were tied at 45-45 with 15:40 to play but then the Cobbers went on a 15-5 run to take a 60-50 lead with 11:32 left in the second half. A Schell 3-pointer gave CC the double-digit lead and Concordia would never let the Rams get to within three points for the last half of the final period of play.
The Cobbers finished the game by shooting 52.5% (31-for-59) from the floor and 47.1% (8-for-17) from 3-point range in the game. Both shooting percentages are a season high as was the 31 made field goals.
CC also shot 72.2% (13-for-18) from the foul line to keep the quality shooting trend going through all three shooting statistical categories.
Concordia also held a 39-29 advantage in rebounds and had two more blocks in the game.
Cook went 11-for-21 from the field in putting up his game-high 25 points. He also added six boards, two blocks and two assists. It is the second time in the last three games he has scored at least 25 points and has scored at least 20 points in three of the four games.
Cook currently leads the MIAC in scoring with a 22.8 points per game average.
Schell was 5-for-7 from distance and 8-for-11 from the floor in recording his first collegiate 20-point game.
Jackson Loge came up with another double-double for CC. He recorded 16 points to go with 16 rebounds and now has two straight double-doubles. It was also his second consecutive 16-rebound game.
Loge's season rebound average of 14.5 rebounds per game leads the league.
Peyton Belka gave the Cobbers four starters in double figures in scoring. He was 3-for-6 from behind the arc and finished with 12 points. He has scored at least 10 points in three of the tea's four games this year.
Concordia will finish off their pre-MIAC schedule when they play at Minn.-Morris on Monday, Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m. The Cobbers and Cougars have already played this season with CC posting a 79-74 win in Moorhead.
