Nelson Leads Cobbers at Competitive Augustana Interregional 6K
The Concordia-Moorhead women’s cross country team took on a nationally competitive field at the Augustana Interregional Invitational in Rock Island, Ill., finishing 28th in the 40-team Women’s DIII Gold 6K race.
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (Oct. 18, 2025) – The Concordia-Moorhead women's cross country team went stride-for-stride with some of the nation's top Division III programs on Saturday, placing 28th overall in the Women's DIII Gold 6K at the Augustana Interregional Invitational. The meet, held at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill., featured a deep 40-team field packed with nationally ranked squads from across the Midwest and beyond.
Senior Ashley Nelson led the Cobbers once again, clocking a time of 23:30.9 to finish 111th overall in the 437-runner field. She set the pace early and maintained a strong rhythm throughout, averaging 6:18 per mile through the opening stretch.
Close behind was Brooklyn Hart, who crossed in 23:46.7 for 134th place, followed by Kelyn Henry-Perlich at 24:15.2 and Londyn Ames in 24:21.5. Lilly Dickinson rounded out the Cobbers' scoring five with a 24:41.3, giving Concordia a total team time of 2:00:35 and an average of 24:07 per runner.
The Cobbers showed tight pack running throughout the race, with just a 1:10 spread separating their top five finishers. Addie Dahl (24:55.9) and Mallory DeVries (25:11.7) also delivered solid performances to complete the top seven.
The meet provided a valuable test ahead of the MIAC Championships, as Concordia lined up against powerhouse programs including Wisconsin–La Crosse, Trine, and the University of Chicago, who took the top three team spots.
Concordia will now turn its focus to the MIAC Championships, set for Nov. 1 at 12:00 PM at Highland Park Golf Course in Saint Paul, Minn.
