GENEVA, Ohio (5/23/25)---Senior Peyton Selle capped off her Cobber career by finishing the heptathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Championship Meet.
Selle ended the 7-event competition with 3,843 points and finished in 20th place in the final individual standings. She only scored points in six of the seven events after being disqualified in the 200 meters on Friday.
Selle opened Day 2 of the national heptathlon by posting a distance of 17-10.75 on her very first attempt. That mark was No.7 among all the competitors and earned Selle 683 points – her second-highest point total over the course of the seven events.
Selle then posted her highest finish in any event when she came through with a throw of 111-01. That distance placed her fifth and got her 550 more points.
Selle ended her national meet by clocking a 2:33.22 in the 800 meters. That time was .76 of a second faster than what she ran at the MIAC heptathlon when she finished in third place. Selle's 800 time gave her 653 points and allowed her to beat the athlete, who finished in 21st place, by a single point.
Selle ends her time at Concordia by being one of only a handful of Cobber athletes who have participated in at least four NCAA National Meets.
