Selle Is Headed South

MOORHEAD, Minn. (3/05/23)---The reigning queen of the MIAC multi-event will be taking her act to the national stage. Junior Peyton Selle was one of the Top 20 individuals in the pentathlon, and will compete at the NCAA National Indoor Meet on Mar. 10 in Birmingham, Ala.

It will be the second consecutive national meet appearance for Selle, but very first national indoor pentathlon meet competition. Last year Selle qualified for the heptathlon at the DIII Outdoor Meet and finished in 15th place.

Selle continues the long line of Cobber national indoor meet appearances. Concordia has now had 10 athletes qualify in the last 11 seasons. Selle is the first multi-event athlete to qualify for nationals since Kaari Jensen participated in 2013.

Selle qualified for this year's DIII National Indoor Meet with her MIAC-winning score of 3,240 points. That total is No.19 on the national list this year.

Selle's total at the conference meet was a career best, and the third highest in school history. It also helped her win MIAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Year honors.

Selle will participate in all five events in the pentathlon at the national meet on Friday, Mar. 10 beginning at 10:20 a.m. (cst) at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala.
