ORLANDO, Fla. (3/4/26) – The Concordia-Moorhead women's tennis team earned a dominant 7-0 sweep over St. John Fisher on Wednesday afternoon in Orlando, Fla.
The Cobbers set the tone early by sweeping all three doubles matches to grab a 1-0 lead. At No. 1 doubles, Tanis Lee and Alyssa Sommerfeld rolled to a 6-1 victory. Shireen Durrani and Erin Borchard followed with a 6-0 win at No. 2, while Claire Kimman and Annalise Skrade completed the sweep with a 6-1 decision at No. 3.
Concordia carried that momentum into singles play, claiming all six matches in straight sets.
Alyssa Sommerfeld was sharp at No. 2 singles, earning a 6-1, 6-0 win. Shireen Durrani (No. 3) and Erin Borchard (No. 4) each posted 6-2, 6-2 victories, while Ava Lowman (No. 5) secured a 6-1, 6-0 decision. Olivia Walter controlled play at No. 6 with a 6-1, 6-1 win.
At the top spot, Tanis Lee battled in a tightly contested second set before closing out a 6-1, 7-5 victory at No. 1 singles to cap the sweep.
The Cobbers will continue play in Florida tomorrow with a match against Concordia Wisconsin.
