Season Ends With Senior Celebration Day
Concordia women’s soccer team closed out its 2025 season Saturday on Senior Day, falling 2-0 to Augsburg. The Cobbers honored their seniors before the match and battled hard throughout but were unable to overcome a disciplined Augsburg squad.

Moorhead, Minn. (11/1/25) – Concordia started the game aggressively, with Darby Hannan testing Augsburg goalkeeper Claire Smothers multiple times in the opening minutes. Augsburg opened the scoring at 9:45 when Jayla Ponce found the back of the net off an assist from Phoebe Alva Rosa, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead. Concordia pressed for an equalizer throughout the remainder of the first half, with shots from Kara Ellis, Darby Hannan, and Kate Corradi, while goalkeeper Julia Roark made several key saves to keep the Cobbers within one goal.
In the second half, Augsburg extended their lead at 54:07 when Abby Rosebur scored on a play assisted by Jayla Ponce and McKenna Nachreiner. Concordia-Moorhead continued to create opportunities, including shots from Darby Hannan, Addison Lowell, and Kate Corradi, but were unable to break through Augsburg's defensive and goalkeeping efforts.
Goalkeeper Julia Roark finished with three saves for the Cobbers, while the offense was led by Darby Hannan, who recorded four shots, three of which were on goal.
Concordia-Moorhead will now look ahead to the offseason while celebrating its graduating seniors, who were honored during pregame ceremonies for their contributions to the program.
