MOORHEAD, Minn. (2/13/26)---Concordia renewed its rivalry with former MIAC opponent Augsburg and the No.3-ranked Auggies were able to come away with a 44-3 win in the final dual meet of the year for both teams.
The lone Cobber win in the dual came from first-year athlete Chris Acuna, who scored a 4-3 upset win over No.12-ranked Karsen Otis at 157. Acuna, who was ranked fourth in the region in the latest NWCA rankings, used a takedown in the third period to earn his team-leading 21st victory of the season.
Neither wrestler scored a point in the first period and Acuna was awarded a point after Otis was given a pair of stall warnings. Otis posted an escape to start the third period to tie the match before Acuna claimed the game-winning takedown.
The win pushes Acuna's season record to 21-7 on the year.
Junior Will Freking and senior Mason Swanson had the other two matched decided by a decision.
Freking trailed No.7-ranked Ethan Winkelman 3-0 heading into the third period at 197 but gave up a pair of takedowns in the final frame and lost 9-2. Swanson recorded four escapes in his match at 285 against No.6-ranked Tyler Raway and fell 11-4.
Concordia will have a 2-week before competing in the NCAA Region VII Meet held on Feb. 27-28 at Wis.-Eau Claire.
