Return To Invite Action Brings Double-Digit Place Winner Total
Concordia returned to multi-team invitational action after a 3-week break and came away with 10 podium finishes at the annual Augsburg Invite. The Cobbers brought a contingent of 21 athletes to the meet with 13 wrestling in the gold division and eight participating in the freshmen bracket.
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (11/22/25)---Concordia returned to multi-team invitational action after a 3-week break and came away with 10 podium finishes at the annual Augsburg Invite.
The Cobbers brought a contingent of 21 athletes to the meet with 13 wrestling in the gold division and eight participating in the freshmen bracket.
Concordia had four wrestlers post Top 8 finishes in the gold division and had six first-year athletes come away as place winners in the freshmen division.
Senior Kie Anderson led the upperclassmen. He went 3-1 on the day and placed third in the 133-lb gold division. Anderson started the meet with a couple of pins, including one over Chance Suddeth of Augsburg, who won the 133-lb bracket at last year's Region VII Regional Meet and went on to earn All-American honors.
Anderson's only loss of the day came against DII wrestler Chase Beckett of MSU Mankato who placed fourth at the DII Super Region V Meet last year.
Jack Major and Will Freking earned sixth-place finishes in the gold division and were joined by Jackson Marr as the other Top 8 finishers.
Major lost his first bout of the day and then went 3-1 after that to place sixth at 141.
Freking was sixth at 197 with a similar 3-2 mark. Marr was also 3-2 and placed eighth at 149.
The freshmen were led by Zaniyan Iron Eyes and Quinton Harcey.
iron Eyes posted the most wins of any CC wrestler by going 4-1 at 141. He placed fifth in the freshmen bracket and is now 8-2 on the year. His eight wins are the most by any Cobber wrestler this year.
Harcey placed second in a small field at 174. He went 1-1 at the meet in a division that featured a round robin format.
Zachary Thompson finished fifth at fifth at 149 with a 3-1 mark and now has seven wins on the year.
Kaleb Lodahl and Aiden Downing had the other Top 5 finishes in the freshmen division. Lodahl was 2-2 at 133 and placed fourth, while Downing was 1-2 at 141.
The Cobbers will have a break for the Thanksgiving holiday and return to action on Sunday, Dec. 7 when they compete at the MSU Moorhead Dragon Open.
