MOORHEAD, Minn. (3/06/26)---Another milestone moment was checked off the list for the Cobbers in 2026. A little over two weeks ago Concordia earned its first MIAC regular season championship since 2013 and on Friday, the Cobbers went deeper into the archives to post their first NCAA tournament victory since 1995.
Concordia ended an 8-game, national playoff losing streak by beating Wis.-Superior 73-61 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Cobbers never trailed against the Yellowjackets as they scored the first nine points in the game and held off a pair of Superior's second-half pushes that cut the lead down to three points.

The Cobbers are now 24-4 on the year and have won 10 of their last 11 games. CC is now 14-2 at home.
The NCAA opener used a slightly different path to get to the winner's circle. Concordia has spent most of the 2026 season using their stellar inside game to wear down opponents. On Friday, the Cobbers went inside-out to knock down 10 shots from outside th arc to gram the win.
Concordia doubled-up the 3-point total from Superior and the 10 made shots from distance mark only the fourth time that CC has posted a double-digit 3-point total. The Cobbers attempted 27 shots from outside the arc which are the third most for the entire season.
Wis.-Superior (12-16) was able to whittle down the Cobber lead to only three points with 2:13 left to go in the third quarter after they went on a 14-2 run that almost erased a 15-point lead for CC.
Concordia responded with four made free throws from Maya Metcalf, Olivia Hanson and Kaia Gack to push the lead to seven points and then a jumper from Hanson and two more foul shots from Gack pushed the lead back into double digits by the end of the third quarter.
The Yellowjackets made one more push to start the fourth period and cut the deficit to seven points but five straight points from Metcalf put the game to bed.
Concordia finished the game by shooting 39/0% (23-59) from the floor and went 17-for-21 (81.3%) from the foul line.
Superior shot 40.0% (26-for-56) from the floor, 21.7% (5-for-23) from distance and 4-for-6 from the foul line.
