Metcalf Named MIAC Defensive Player Of The Week
Concordia sophomore Maya Metcalf (West Fargo, N.D./West Fargo Sheyenne HS) was named the MIAC Defensive Player of the Week for her 12-rebound performance in the Cobbers’ MIAC-opening win over St. Catherine.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/24/25)---Concordia sophomore Maya Metcalf (West Fargo, N.D./West Fargo Sheyenne HS) was named the MIAC Defensive Player of the Week for her 12-rebound performance in the Cobbers' MIAC-opening win over St. Catherine.
Metcalf earns the conference weekly honor for the first time in her career, and she is the first Cobber player to receive Player of the Week honors this year.
Metcalf was a big part of Concordia's 56-42 win over St. Catherine in the Cobbers' only game of the week.
Metcalf grabbed 12 total rebounds, including four offensive boards, as she held CC post a 48-34 advantage in rebounds in the game.
In addition to her 12 rebounds, Metcalf also scored as team-high 12 points to record her second double-double in the team's first four games of the year.
Metcalf is averaging 10.8 rebounds per game this year which is fourth best in the MIAC.
