Cobbers Flip The Switch In The Second Half
Concordia flipped the switch in the second half after trailing Wis.-River Falls by seven points at the break. The Cobbers outscored the Falcons 38-24 in the final 20 minutes of play to post a 65-57 win.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/15/25)---Concordia overcame a 7-point halftime deficit and outlasted Wis.-River Falls 64-57 in the second game of the 2025-26 season.
The Cobbers outscored the Falcons 38-24 in the second half to run their record to 2-0 for the year.
Concordia only connected on one 3-point field goal, and shot 36.7% from the floor, in the first 20 minutes of play but followed that up by sinking six shots from distance and shooting 44.4% from the field in the second half of play.
The Cobber defense also flipped the switch in the second half. After allowing River Falls to make eight shots from outside the arc and connect on 44.4% of their field goal attempts in the opening half, CC limited the Falcons to only a single made 3-pointer and a meager 16.1% field goal percentage in the final half of play.
Concordia finished the game by shooting 40.4% (23-for-57) from the floor and 41.2% (7-for-17 from distance. River Falls ended up shooting 27.9% (17-for-61 from the field and 28.1% (9-for-32) from outside the arc.
The Cobbers were led by sophomore transfer Maya Metcalf, who recorded her first double-double in a maroon and gold uniform. Metcalf scored a team-high 13 points and hauled down 11 rebounds.
Molly Musland was 4-for-7 from the floor and finished with nine points. She also added four rebounds and three assists.
Taya Jeffrey and Tatum Findley both had strong second half performances. Both players had two points at the break but then finished with eight for the game. Jeffrey also had five rebounds, while Findley was 2-for-2 from 3-point range and added three rebounds.
Concordia will have little time to enjoy the come-from-behind victory as they will host Wis.-Stout on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m.
