Cobbers Compete Strong in Deep Field at Augustana Interregional Invite
The Concordia-Moorhead men’s cross country team turned in a steady performance against a stacked national field at the Augustana Interregional Invitational in Rock Island, Ill., placing 23rd overall in the Men’s Blue 8K race.
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (Oct. 18, 2025) – The Concordia-Moorhead men's cross country team tested themselves against some of the strongest competition in Division III at the Augustana Interregional Invitational on Saturday. The Cobbers placed 23rd overall in the Men's Blue 8K at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island, Ill., in a field loaded with nationally ranked programs and regional contenders.
Junior Tyler Goss once again led the Cobbers, crossing the line in 27:18.5 to finish 78th overall. He established a fast pace early, hitting the 4K mark at 13:14 and closing strong over the final stretch. Carter Ferber was next in for Concordia with a time of 27:56.4, followed by Gavin Carl at 29:19.8, Stetson Gisselbeck in 29:40.5, and Evan Grover rounding out the scoring five at 29:52.3.
Concordia finished with a team total of 2:24:07 and an average time of 28:49, with just a 2:33 spread between their top five runners. Brady Andrews (30:31.3) and Jonas Hagemeister (30:38.6) completed the Cobbers' top seven.
The Cobbers raced in a highly competitive field that featured powerhouse teams such as Wartburg, Wisconsin–La Crosse, and Washington University, who claimed the top three team spots. The meet served as a valuable tune-up heading into the final stretch of the season.
Concordia will now turn its focus to the MIAC Championships, set for Nov. 1 at 11:00 AM.
