Cobber Men’s Cross Country Competes at Blugold Invitational
Concordia men’s cross country faced a competitive regional field at the Blugold Invitational, held at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax, Wisconsin, on Friday.
OLFAX, Wis. (10/3/25) – Concordia men's cross country ran against a loaded regional field at the Blugold Invitational, held at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax, Wisconsin. The Cobbers placed 27th in the varsity 8000-meter race and 14th in the open 8000-meter race, competing against more than 30 programs from the MIAC, WIAC and beyond.
Carter Ferber led the Cobber varsity squad, clocking a 27:49.2 to place 164th overall. He was followed by Gavin Carl (28:48.8), Weston Mahar (29:02.9), Stetson Gisselbeck (29:30.1) and Evan Grover (29:36.2) to round out the scoring five. The group finished with a team total of 820 points and posted a scoring spread of just 1:47, highlighting strong pack running. Concordia's top five combined for an average time of 28:57 on the Whitetail Golf Course layout.
In the open race, Jonas Hagemeister paced the Cobbers with a 30:48.4 finish. He was joined in the scoring by Owen Klisch (32:05.0), Blake Andrews (32:10.0), Jayson Lemler (33:29.9) and Brody Black (33:30.5). The open team tallied 452 points for 14th place and posted a team average of 32:24.
This weekend the Cobbers will be hosting the Homecoming 5K Fun Run beginning at 8:30. Race day registration is open from 7-8:00 at Memorial Auditorium, don't miss it! Concordia will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 18, when they travel to Rock Island Illinois for the Augustanna (III.) Interregional Invitational.
