COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. (4/16/26)---Ethan Lebrija, Ryan Richardson and Tyler Evans led Concordia at the SJU Invitational which was moved up from Saturday due to impending typical Minnesota spring weather.
Lebrija, a junior from Chokio, Minn., won both the 100-meter dash and 200 meters, Richardson claimed the victory in the 400-meter hurdles and Evans bettered his week-old school record in the pole vault to win that event going away.
The trio helped the Cobbers place fourth in the final team standings out of nine schools at the event.
Lebrija clocked an 11.13 in the 100 meters and followed that with a 22.43 in the 200 meters. Both of his finishing times are just a click off his season-best marks which have him in the Top 8 in the MIAC in both events.
Richardson crossed the line in a season-best time of 56.56 in the 400-meter hurdles which was only .02 faster than the runner-up finisher from Bethel. Richardson's mark is No.6 in the MIAC this season.
Evans continues to set the bar higher for future Cobbers in the pole vault. He cleared 15-09 which easily erased his mark of 15-05.75 which he set last weekend at NDSU. Evans continued to be in the No.2 spot in the conference. It also pushes him into the Top 30 in DIII.
Track athletes Tyler Goss and Hayden Hauf also posted Top 3 finishes. Goss stepped away from the 3K steeplechase to compete in the 1500 meters and placed second in the event. He clocked a 4:10.59 which is a season best.
Hauf ran a 16.61, and placed third, in the 110-meter hurdles.
Eli Hegland and Blake Houska had the two Top 5 finishes among non-Evans named field athletes. Heglund was third in the high jump with a height of 6-00.75, while Houska was fifth in the shot put at 50-04.75.
Heglund's mark ties his season best which is tied for No.4 in the MIAC this year.
The Cobbers will have a rare weekend off and return to action when they compete at the Viking Twilight on Tuesday, Apr. 21.
