Molstre And Peterson Complete Day 1 At MIAC Decathlon
Sophomores Joey Molstre and Josh Peterson completed the first day of the MIAC decathlon at Carleton in Northfield.
NORTHFIELD, Minn. (5/01/25)---Sophomores Joey Molstre and Josh Peterson completed the first day of the MIAC decathlon at Carleton in Northfield.
Molstre used a personal best time in the 400 meters, the day's final event, to move up into sixth place after the conclusion of the first five events. Peterson's top event came in the very first event of the meet, the 100-meter dash, and he sits in 13th place after the first five events.
Molstre scored 796 points for his career-best time of 50.41 in the 400 meters. That was his top point total of the day. His other 700-plus event came in the other running competition, the 100-meter dash, where he posted a time of 11.37 to score 780 points.
Molstre recorded 500-point marks in the high jump, where he cleared 5-07.25 and received 552 points, and the long jump, where he put up a distance of 18-06 and got 510 points.
Peterson's time of 11.84 in the 100 meters earned him 683 points. Like Molstre, his other top point total came in the other running event of the day. Peterson crossed the line in a time of 58.22 in the 400 meters and scored 476 points.
The two Cobbers will finish off the decathlon on Friday, May 2, beginning at 10:30 a.m. with the 110-meter hurdles.
