Cobbers Fall to No. 5 St. Olaf in Home Match
Concordia-Moorhead faced a tough challenge on Saturday, falling 5–0 at home to No. 5 nationally ranked St. Olaf. The Cobbers fought hard, but the Oles’ potent attack and strong defensive play kept Concordia-Moorhead off the scoreboard throughout the match.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/18/25) – Concordia-Moorhead faced a tough outing against St. Olaf as the Oles jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, handing the Cobbers a 5–0 defeat.
The first period set the tone, with St. Olaf testing Cobbers goalkeeper Jack Solheid early and often. The Oles opened the scoring in the 10th minute off an assist from Todd Tustin, then added a second goal shortly after to make it 2–0. Dimitri Nair extended the advantage to 3–0 in the 18th minute. Despite the early deficit, Concordia-Moorhead worked to maintain possession. Parker Gast forced a key save from St. Olaf goalie Jack Hobday late in the first half, but the Cobbers could not convert.
The second period saw continued pressure from St. Olaf. Charlie Piller and Caspar Olseth added goals in the 54th and 60th minutes, respectively, pushing the lead to 5–0. Concordia-Moorhead continued to attack, with their best chance coming from Dylan Sipe in the 68th minute, which was saved by Alex Keekley. Another solid opportunity from Isaac Stockert at the 80th minute was also stopped by the Oles' goalkeeper.
Parker Gast led the Cobbers with two shots, one of which was on goal, while Jack Solheid recorded five saves in the match.
The Cobbers return to action on October 22 when they travel to face Gustavus at 1:00 PM.
