MOORHEAD, Minn. (1/17/26)---Joe Harguindeguy and Matthew Hard made sure there would be nothing but smiles on Senior Day as the pair of 4-year Cobbers combined for all three third-period goals in Concordia's 4-1 comeback win over St. Scholastica.
The Cobbers and Saints were tied 1-1 heading into the final 20 minutes of regulation before Harguindeguy struck for two goals and Hard added the fourth goal as CC swept St. Scholastica for the second straight season.
The two wins over the weekend push Concordia back into the 5-team MIAC playoff race. The Cobbers are 7-8-0 in all games and now 4-4-0 in conference contests which is good 12 points and a tie for fourth place in the league standings.
Concordia honored its six seniors before the game in the annual Senior Day Celebration ceremony but it was the Saints who had the festive flavor for the first 35 minutes of play.
St. Scholastica (4-12-1, 1-6-1 MIAC) opened the scoring with a goal midway through the opening period and had a 12-10 edge in shots on goal for the first frame.
The game changed late in the second period when Ian Ness netted his first collegiate goal at the 17:56 mark. Ness' strike was set up by Zak Kennett and allowed CC to skate into the second intermission deadlocked at 1-1.
The third period belonged to Harguindeguy and Ness who both lit the lamp for the second straight game.
Harguindeguy gave the Cobbers their first lead of the game only 38-seconds into the final stanza and then doubled the lead with a shorthanded strike at 8:52.
Caden Triggs earned assists on both of the goals and Jackson Lucia grabbed his third helper of the year on the game-winning tally.
Triggs leads the Cobbers in assists with 13.
Harguindeguy finished the weekend with four goals and a team-high nine shots on goal. Harguindeguy now has eight goals on the season which leads CC.
Hard finished off the scoring at 12:37 when he finished off the set up from Jack Hanson and Blake Johnson.
First-year goalie Noel Olsonawski stopped 28 of the 29 shots he faced and is now 4-4-0 on the season.
Concordia will hit the road next weekend when they play at St. Olaf in a 2-game series on Jan. 23-24.
