Concordia and Wisconsin–Superior skated to a scoreless opening period as both teams generated chances but were unable to capitalize.
The Cobbers controlled the opening draw and produced early offensive pressure, while a blocked shot by Joe Harguindeguy helped set the tone defensively. Both teams created opportunities from in close throughout the period, with Concordia earning chances near the crease from Caden Triggs and Patrick Dunaiski, while Wisconsin–Superior responded with multiple looks from the slot.
Concordia pushed the pace late in the frame, capped by a final chance from Harguindeguy in the closing seconds. Despite steady pressure on both ends, neither side found the back of the net, and the teams headed into the first intermission tied 0–0.
Concordia broke the scoreless tie midway through the second period, outshooting and outworking Wisconsin–Superior to take a 1–0 lead into the second intermission.
The Cobbers applied early pressure in the frame with chances from Harguindeguy and Triggs, while both teams traded looks from in tight during the opening minutes. After killing an early power play for Wisconsin–Superior and coming up empty on its first man-advantage opportunity, Concordia capitalized at even strength.
At 9:00, Harguindeguy finished a chance in front of the net off an assist from Triggs to give the Cobbers their first goal of the night. Wisconsin–Superior answered with sustained pressure on a subsequent power play, but Concordia's penalty kill held firm. Concordia continued to generate offensive-zone time late in the period, creating multiple chances during another power play and at five-on-five, and carried its one-goal edge into the second intermission.

Wis.-Superior (9-5-1) tied the game at 9:52 when Tyler Ryder scored from the slot off assists from Carson Riddle and Justin Dauphinais to make it 1–1. Just over two minutes later, the Yellowjackets took the lead as Blake Setter finished a chance from in front of the net at 12:11 to give Wisconsin–Superior a 2–1 advantage.
Concordia responded with urgency, generating sustained offensive-zone pressure and several quality chances, including a shot off the pipe by Harguindeguy with under four minutes remaining. The Cobbers earned a late power-play opportunity following a delay-of-game penalty and pulled the goalie for the extra attacker, but were unable to convert. Wisconsin–Superior sealed the game with an empty-net goal by Carson Riddle with 39 seconds remaining to close out a 3–1 decision.
The Yellowjackets held a 30-24 edge in shots on goal. Neither team was able to take advantage of the power play situations. CC was 0-for-4 in the game and the Cobber penalty kill unit held UWS scoreless in their three attempts.
Noel Olsonawski finished with 27 saves in goal for the Cobbers.
Concordia will look to bounce back quickly, returning to action tomorrow night when it hosts UW–Stout at 7:00 p.m.
