Two Unanswered Goals Sends Cobbers To Split With Cardinals
Concordia only trailed for 4:30 in their series finale with St. Mary's but it came at the end of the game and handed the Cobbers a 3-2 loss as CC settled for a split in the series with the Cardinals.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (12/06/25)---Concordia finished off the 2025 portion of its schedule by giving up the final two goals of the game against St. Mary's and dropping a 3-2 decision.
The 1-goal loss gives the Cobbers a split in the series with the Cardinals.
Concordia finishes off the first 10 games of the 2025-26 season with a 3-6-1 overall record and a 1-4-1 mark in conference play. St. Mary's ups it mark to 5-3-1 in all games and 3-1-0 in the MIAC.

The two teams skated through a scoreless first period and then CC was able to score in the fourth minute of the second period while they were killing off a penalty.
Caden Triggs notched the first of his two goals in the game when he took the puck off the stick of the SMU goalie behind the net and then beat the goaltender to the front of the net and scored on the wraparound.
The shorthanded goal was the Cobbers' third of the season which leads the MIAC.
Concordia's 1-goal lead was short lived as the Cardinals were able to tie the game only 2:09 later.
The game would remain deadlocked at 1-1 until the second minute of the third period when Triggs once again put up an early-period strike on the board. He found himself in the right spot at the right time as he tapped home a rebound from a short angle on the left side of the net. Tal Halliday and Joe Harguindeguy were credited with the assists on Triggs' team-leading fifth goal of the year.
St. Mary's would tie the game at the 8:24 mark and post the game-winning goal at 15:30 which gave the Cardinals their first lead of the contest.
Concordia pulled netminder Noel Olsonawski with 2:00 left on the clock and spent the final two minutes in the SMU end but couldn't come up with the equalizer.
The Cobbers outshot St. Mary's 39-27 in the game and 86-51 in the series.
Triggs and Harguindeguy posted a game-high six shots on goal while Halliday finished with five.
Olsonawski made 24 saves in his third straight start in goal for CC.
Concordia will return to action after the holiday break when they play at Marian (Wis.) on Jan. 3-4.
