Henderson Receives MIAC Player Of The Week Honors
Concordia junior wide receiver Davion Henderson was named the MIAC Offensive Player of the Week for his record-setting performance in the Cobbers’ Homecoming victory over St. Scholastica.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/6/25)---Concordia junior wide receiver Davion Henderson (Aurora, Colo./Grandview HS) was named the MIAC Offensive Player of the Week for his record-setting performance in the Cobbers' Homecoming victory over St. Scholastica.
Henderson earns the conference weekly honor for the first time in his career and he becomes the second straight Concordia player to receive MIAC Player of the Week honors. Last week, senior safety Jacob Pipho was named the MIAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Henderson recorded 211 receiving yards against the Saints which eclipsed the old school record for receiving yards in a single game of yards set by Andrew Passanante, who was inducted into the Cobber Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday, and had 206 yards in a game against Hamline in 2004.
In addition to his record-setting receiving yards total, Henderson also caught a pair of touchdown passes. His TDs were the first two of the game for Concordia and set the offensive tone for the rest of the win.
Henderson finished the day with nine catches for 211 yards and two touchdowns.
Henderson is in the Top 10 of the MIAC in receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, average yards per catch and receiving yards per game.
Henderson will look to continue his early-season success when he takes the field for the Cobbers' game at Hamline on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 1 p.m.
