A Chilly Spring Opener
-Concordia opened the spring portion of its schedule at a chilly and damp Gustie Spring Classic held at Emerald Greens GC. The Cobbers opened with a team score of 351 on Saturday and then improved on that total by eight shots on Day 2 and finished at 694 which was good for ninth place in the final team standings.
HASTINGS, Minn. (4/12/26)---Concordia opened the spring portion of its schedule at a chilly and damp Gustie Spring Classic held at Emerald Greens GC.
The Cobbers opened with a team score of 351 on Saturday and then improved on that total by eight shots on Day 2 and finished at 694 which was good for ninth place in the final team standings.
The meet marked the first time since 2022 that Concordia had competed in a spring event.
The Cobbers were led by sophomore Madi Ramler, who finished with a total of 171 and was in a tie for 35th place in the final individual standings. Like the Cobbers as a team, Ramler improved from Day 1 to Day 2. She carded an 86 on Saturday and came home with an 85 on Sunday.
Nora Benson and Addicyn Zimmerman were two shots off of Ramler's pace. They posted identical totals of 173 and finished in the Top 40. Benson had the second-best improvement from day to day of any Cobber at the meet. She carded an 89 on Day 1 and finished with an 84. The 84 on Sunday was the low score by any Cobber during the meet.
Zimmerman was consistent from the two days as she went 86-87 to finish with her 173 total.
First-year golfer Becca Rugless showed the most improvement over the two days. She opened with a 93 but then settled into spring play and shot an 87 on Day 2.
Concordia will finish off its spring schedule when they play at the Bethel Spring Invitational on Apr. 18-19 at the Oneka Ridge Golf Course in White bear Lake.
